Hey guys, I was just getting ready to bite the bullet and bore out to 838, and considering Megacycle cam and Keihin CR Special Roundslide Racing Carburetors. I notice that the carbs are "for race use only" but is it really a problem to run them on the street? I hadn't really given any thought to the drawbacks of doing this other than maybe losing some fuel efficiency.

What should I be looking out for? Am I crazy for wanting to do this?

Thanks.

Think he's talking about the newer CR "Specials" Frank?? Idle circuits wouldn't be a problem however you may consider changing the choke idle jet size once you start getting them dialed in.

Which size are you planning on? 29 or 31? 29's would work I'm sure. 31's might be better served if you're going to have some serious head work done. Port, polish, 33.5 or 34mm intakes.

"Race Use Only" meams twisting it up on the street racing circuit or the track  ;) You should be fine as long as you don't go too big. Too big may work best if you KEEP the throttle twisted open all the time.

Any aftermarket part that effects emissions is labeled "race track use only". It is all about DOT and EPA. Dynojet had to pay a big fine some years back because they did not specify that.
I used CR's for years on the street...29's and 31's. The fuel enrichment system (choke) leaves a lot to be desired IMO.
