Last time I had a claim like that it was on a car my daughter totaled hitting a truck missing the bumper of the car. Hood, grill, headlight, headlight surrounds and minor damage to panel below hood in front of radiator...they offered less than $750 for a car that was 14 years old. I had an interior door panel off for a repair to wiring and the car was dirty. Told them to go stuff themselves and withdrew the claim. Went to salvage yard and replaced hood for $100 and new aftermarket grill, headlamps, and reflector/turn lenses for $240 and bent panel back into place... other than the miscolored hood, no major tells. Car was sideswiped by a lady who sideswipped two cars at once trying to split the middle at a traffic light they woke up to fact they needed to stop too late. They gave uus $1400 for the damage and did not try to total it. So, insurance companies suck!
They are merely trying to minimize their losses anyway they can, even when dealing with their own policy holders.
So, how does a car that is worth $750 go to be worth more than $1400 ( with no attempt to total it) when valued by another insurance company?
Adjusters income must be tied to how wellthey minimize payout at some companies...
