Evening All....
« on: April 08, 2014, 01:17:43 PM »
Hi All,

I'm new here, just bought myself a CB650 with the intentions of building a cafe racer, been on the hunt for a while and then one pop'd up local so went to check it out and he had 2 that he was hoping to get rid of as a set, one whole (pretty much except the tank and seat were off) and another which was in bits. So its time for the fun bit to begin and buy all the stuff I need/want.

I'm sure I'll have a few queries when i go and pick them up on the weekend and make a start on the list but until then I think research will be my main plan.

I also have another project that may interest people, my Chevette Road rally car

Welcome to the group. Sounds like you will be busy for a while. Post some pics when you can.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

I'd love to see some pictures of the Chevette Road rally car. I got 10 years of use out of a Chevette that I got for $400. I always thought it was a great little car, just needed a 5th gear. When speed limits starting moving up after the repeal of the 55 mile nationwide limit, it was really screaming at 75 MPH.
My horde includes:
79 CB 750K
78 CB 750K
77 CB 750K
77 GL 1000
77 CB 550F

Finding time to sort anything will be my issue, just so busy with work that getting a chance to get into the garage is a nightmare, the Chevette was at the stage where she just needed a bit of time spent prepping and painting but since then shes been untouched for about 2 years so going to need a bit more work to get here sorted but hopefully i can try and get her sorted over the summer then that should free me up to kick on with the cafe racer, and enough time to gather most/all the bits i need or want.
