Replacement exhaust system for 77 CB750F
« on: April 11, 2014, 09:58:19 AM »
I'm doing a rebuild/restoration on the above mentioned bike and wanted to keep the OEM header and exhaust but it's just too far gone. I favor the OEM flat 4 into 1 collector, but most I've found on ebay are in no better shape than what I've got. So I'm going to go with an after market system. I know that from what I've seen all replacement 4 into 1's are going the be the 2 stacked on 2 style. What I'd like to find out is:
1. Will there be any ground clearance issues with these style header/collectors on a stock bike?
2. Can I still use my center stand?
3. Do they allow access to oil filter and oil pan?
4. What is a good starting point for jetting with after market systems on a stock motor using stock air box and filter?

I know I'll most likely have to fab up a exhaust/muffler bracket and that's o.k. I know it's a lot of questions but hoping that the collective out there can give some advice.
