Took a year to build. Just started the engine for the very first time yesterday. No major issues. Just lots of tuning to do. That is a BMW transmision in case you were wondering. I don't know what kind of a vehicle the engine will sit in once I get the tweeking done? We have stupid laws in Canada. I would like to see it in something like the old Morgan, but might not be legal to do?
Anyway, I thought some of you gearheads might enjoy the video:

The wonderful looking engine must be visible. It should fit a Trike very well.

+1

Any craftsman that's willing to take on a project like that gets a thumbs up from me but I'm wondering about cooling the rear cyls as well so it will be interesting how this engine evolves. I still think it's impressive though.

Thank you all for the nice complements and suggestions;

I build a little hot rod a few years ago.
 I built a trike last year.
I think this engine would look good in a replica Morgan three wheeler. I could have an electric fan at the back of the engine, pulling air through the cowl and exiting to the sides of the body. I have a huge oil cooler with a separate electric pump controlled by a thermostat to help cool things down if needed.

Awesome job Cliff! My thoughts on the application of this engine would be in a homebuilt aircraft. Get a plane kit, build it, and have some fun with this bad boy engine  8) And you could probably fly at speeds close to 200MPH with it, and cooling would definitely not be an issue. Just a thought...

I don't see how you could put it in a morgan three wheeler without cutting the cowl back far enough to ruin the lines of it. That car was really designed for the tranverse brit/euro twins and singles so jamming a big honking v-8 in there will kill the balance of the car as well.

Instead might I suggest you do something like this:

basically a street legal indy car replica.
http://www.ridelust.com/death-wish-ass-kicking-indycar-for-the-street-will-knock-heads-first-take-names-later/

start with a 27 ford roadster kit body and frame. Maybe a jag rear and some double wishbone front to replace the straight axle. enjoy open wheel fun.

Some really nice shrouds fronted by a Magnesium Corvair Fan should do the trick. Too bad, though because it will hide the beauty of the engine.
