Who makes a Good self powered inductive timing light ?
« on: April 11, 2014, 11:04:56 AM »
I'm partial to my Mazda automobile type Kowa Seiki small timing light,it's always performed well for me but I think the coiled up p-up wire is going bad,it's too short to begin with.  and I've had to stretch it to work more than a few times.I'd like to buy another lead wire but can't seem to find the Kowa Seiki(Japan) brand sold anywhere lately;I purchased it in 1995.
I've also been looking at another one online: the ESI model 130 and it looks good.
I'd like to get one for about $60 but w/ a warranty. I noticed a few on Ebay but wasn't sure about the warranty.
Anybody Else have experience w/ these ?

I know this is more $ than you were looking to spend but I am very happy with this:

http://buy1.snapon.com/products/diagnostics/time_mt125.asp

I have had a 1/2 dozen or so lights through the years and this one is the most sensitive I have ever had. Will fire on the weakest of sparks. Snap-on also has replacement parts available.

I paid $175. Worth it IMO. Mine has a angled handle, not the one shown in the picture. If I remember correctly free shipping on the website.
