Hello, yes this bike was produced for the German market originally... but it'is in Slovenia for many years now... it has allready at least two Slovene owners before it comes to me.

We in Slovenia do not have many of this japanese bikes, because 20 years ago we were still a socialistic-komunistic, very closed country and economic market. It was forbiden to import foreign things in our country... so we do not have many of this bikes in Slovenia (and ex Yugoslavia, too).

I had a lot of work with my Honda, especially with the exsaust pipes... but it was certainly worth it  8)

bye Marko

Slovenia was part of Jugoslavia, not  Czechoslovakia.

Also Russians never really took control of Jugoslavia, Tito did not let them.  Russians invaded Czechoslovakia in 1968 - that's probably what you mean :)

Sorry for the lesson, just couldn't help myself. ;D

I wish you'd have done a tread on your experience redoing the mufflers.
Nice results looks like new!

My exhausts were not looking well and at the inside I heard something rumbles…

I decided to open them and adjust them.

1.   So I first cut off the pipes. Then, with a jigsaw I opened the mufflers. It was a dirty and a slow job. Dirty because of the carbon blacks that spread in the garage.

At the inside a discovered that half of the muffler was broken because of the rust and it was falling apart and that rumbles at the inside when I was shaking them.

2.   Then I cut off the damaged part of the muffler and instead of that I welded in only a perforated pipe long about 35 centimeters. After doing that I welded back the “cover” of the muffler.

3.   Then the last step has to be done on the motorbike. To have the pipes perfect in line with the muffler you have to put both parts on the motorbike frame and weld it together.

It is not a big engineering but it was certainly interesting. At the end we polished and re-chromed the exhausts.

The polishing and the chroming costs me 220€.

The sound is a little bit noisier but I like it!

Bye, marko
