Look at it as a sum of its usable parts, I wouldn't pay more than 2-300$ for it and that's just from the pics. Needs lots of tlc but might be a diamond in the rough.

It's earlier by the looks of it, tank stripe, right side petcock, signals and guages. Check if its got a unicorn top tree and hope the pipes are save able. 72 at the latest is my guess but I'm no expert on the earlyier bikes, I'm sure someone can confirm.

Here is WI that would fetch more than $300 for sure. Probably closer to $800 based on the pics. Add to that if there is a title, motor is free, etc.

You bet... I'll see what he wants for it and let you know if I don't take it. Thanks for the info about it's year, I thought it was likely an early one because of the indicator lights in the gauges. I'll find out how rusty the pipes are and if it turns over and maybe get him to look in the gas tank. Too bad about the fairing, I wonder if the original headlight and painted ears are still around.

No, Rick has sold all his stuff and the fellow who bought most of it is selling it on UsedRegina. I don't think Rick has any bikes left.

Good to know. The side covers look pretty nice but it's hard to tell how rusty things are in photos. I think he's asking around $500.00 but I haven't got a return call from him as yet, just emails.

IF 500 is the number, it sounds like a killer deal. You can always remove the fairing and leave it on the highway in the hopes that a semi'll hit it. Regina Cycle Salvage should have the bucket; if not there's a wrecker here in Aberdeen who should.

Paid $1600 for my non running, 4 rusted mufflers, rotted foam seat, butchered wiring loom...etc  '71 Garnet Brown here in CA. These bikes seem to be sooo much cheaper everywhere but here. But at least the weather is good and I have the Rock Store right up the road ;D

Whichever of you guys picks this up I have the bucket off this bike and will just give it to you for just the shipping cost

+1 on a Diamond in the rough  ;D
I don't know why folks don't just buy a proper Motorcycle Cover or just leave'em uncovered out there ! The damage done by those plastic tarps is usually Bad. I imagine that bike would have been mint if it wasn't for that tarp.  >:(

No, no, no, at least not yet. This is now the bike that is in my avatar. Bought it last Nov from a guy in the Valley. Hadn't run since 2004. 13,000 orig miles. Stripped it down, new paint, wiring, seat, spokes etc.

We should try to meet up at the Rock Store some Sunday morning.

I can't believe it...

I finally got in touch with the owner by phone this morning, and...

...he just sold it, thinking it was me, the guy who kept emailing, saying he'd take it.

I asked him if the motor turned over, he sounded surprised, and said yes. He runs a small engine repair business and he cleaned the carbs and said it idled and ran like a top. Surface rust only, a few hours with an SOS pad he said would have done wonders.

I guess it wasn't meant to be... argghh.

Peterborough, but I could have used a road trip... he was asking $500.00 so I'm glad I don't know what the new owner got it for. (Read: I'd really be crying).
