nice score! There might still be an oem seat at Christel's. Not sure about condition, etc. I'll have to look through my pictures when I get home.

I've also got a small handfull of parts for one.

welcome back to the land of the living ;D

Update 5-17-14 - today Trevor (alias hoodellyhoo) and I loaded up 2 1975 400F's he is going to sell. (see pic) One has a title and runs. The other will be a parts bike. If interested send him a PM. That took the morning. In the afternoon I put the tire back on the 350 after sanding down the drum and pads. The ends of the pads had some kind of cut into them ... looked intentional. That is why it was grabbing so hard. Finished installing the tank, new fuel lines and added no ethanol regular and she started right up. Had to adjust the idle, but she ran real nice. Put some Sea Foam in the tank and took it on a 40 mile ride. Noticed I will need some better fuel line clamps. Plus I will need another float bowl gasket. I changed one out earlier as it was cut. The other looked fine, but must be worn. She purred right along at 55MPH. Had it up to 70MPH and she never missed a beat. Runs like a 6,500 mile motor. Clutch feels excellent and shifting very smooth. She is a fun little runner for sure. Still need to replace the fork ears and fork covers with NOS parts I was able to find. Here is a pic of the 400's we picked up today. The last pic is after I got back with the 350 today. I'll get some better pics in the sun tomorrow. On a side note, I have to thank member grcamna2 (Bill) for the help and parts he provided for me. He also sold me a nice set of OEM mufflers for this bike which will be installed soon.

Cal...thanks for the feedback. My plan is to keep it. Something about the 350 from my youth I guess. I am looking at this bike more for fun and not a profit. Trying to make a profit on these bikes takes all the fun out of it. ;D And thanks for the tip on the uppers. I will check it out.
hoodleyhoo and grcamna...appreciate the offer for the parts. You guys are a great help. More as this saga unravels...
The bikes we had or were around during our youth stick with us don't they Johnie. I had 5 bikes from 1970 to 1976 and it would be great to have all of these back in my possesion. Especially the 1971 SL175 and the 1976 CB550(my favorites) talking about a youth revival now that would to it Johnie ;)

I'm still running the same rubber Goodyear 3/16" lines that I installed 2 years ago;I bought it off of a roll at an Autozone and it does grab hold and bite well onto the carbs and petcock,it's thick rubber line.

I don't like the clear for some reason.  You like seeing the fuel flow?

I have the 3/16th thin black rubber fuel line from a local small engine shop. Not very stiff. I will try the thicker stuff I have here today. Did not go with the clear as it was black when she rolled off the floor so wanted to keep it that way.

Thanks for the heads up...I swapped out my 3/16th thin fuel line with the 3/16th heavier stuff and no clamps. It was a bear to slide on which is good. I even had to use a hair drier to soften it up a bit. Another test ride shows no leaks and come to find out the float bowl was not leaking either. So the leaks are gone and she is a fine bike. Next I will be replacing the bent green fork ears and fork covers with NOS parts. The PO had smashed the lower tank trim on the left side. I had a spare I took off a KO and was able to salvage it. With a little careful cutting it fit nicely on this 350. Here are the outside pics I promised.

Johnie,
These pics do that fine machine justice,it's hard to tell that the fork ears are bent from these angles.

It comes in handy more times than you think. Nice to know you have fuel coming to the carbs instead of guessing.

Then again, I prefer black lines with a  fuel filter. The fuel filter allows me to see the flow of fuel. It has to be the correct diameter (which is not something that you'll find at most places) for it to be a "perfect" fit. Otherwise, it will NOT be a perfect fit.

Once you get used to having an indicator show fuel, you will not want it any different.

Update 5/25/14 - well, was going to replace the bent fork ears and fork covers. You know how it goes, one thing led to another and before you know it I have the front of the bike off. I had already repacked the bearings, but decided as long as I was half way there I may as well paint the guages and top tree. The paint was coming off those areas and they are so noticeable at front and center. Changing the fork oil too. This is the first bike I have ever NOT had fork seals leaking when I got it.

Bill...the KO is pissed and in line. I am letting the paint on that frame cure a bit. Then I will be polishing those engine covers outside. Then it will be time to start the assembly. But like I said, sort of depends on how nice the riding conditions are :)

As you can see by the first pic the gauge paint was chipping bad. This weekend I worked them over, masked and painted. I like how they turned out. They were just so visible and needed to be done. Glad I spent the time. The top tree was just as bad so I painted that too. Now I should be getting the front back on. While I had the forks off I changed the fork oil and noted this is the first bike I have done that the forks were not leaking...yet anyway  ;)
