Staked Bearings Confirmation

Just wanting to confirm: 1- that you drill down into staking as deep as it goes.
2- that you turn the bearing retainer clockwise to remove
3- that you clean up threads or re chase
4- when putting in new retainer to use loctite instead of staking
5- anything special to be careful of?
6- on the hub side where the rubber dampers are, does this retainer turn clockwise to come out as well? I have not seen much reference to this side.

As deep as it goes-yes
Counter clockwise-yes to all if CB750. IF cb500, one is a reverse thread.
Clean up threads is good, but not necessary usually.
I wouldn't use loktite, rather restake. You may want to remove it again sometime, or the next guy.

Had success getting retainers out. One post said to turn clockwise out but that is definitely wrong. Definitely
counter clockwise to remove.
Drilling into stake far enough important. I used the "U-bolt" type made up tool for the retainer in the final drive flange and it worked well. The grinder wrench slipped out and hacked up the retainer, it also bent the pins. Hope this adds a bit story.
