Triple Tree GL for the CB

Hi looking at putting in  GL 1000 forks into the CB750 race bike project I have a full GL front end but was looking at upgrading the Triple tree's to take clip on's clip on's ect I did find these but they only have them to suit the 750 but are the sort of thing I am after thought maybe someone state side may know of a place doing this sort of thing  http://jokermachine.com/joker-racing/category/cafe-racer/

I am installing the GL triple-tree and will use clip-ons for my CB750 Bonneville Land-Speed build. I machined the handlebar lugs until smooth without going through the base to keep strength integrity.

I used the original lower GL tree. Initially, I cut off the handlebar riser from the stock GL upper tree, and had the resulting holes tigged. I ended up not using this set up, and puchased an upper tree from Dime City Cycles, I believe.

sheesh, for that kind of money (like +400) i'm pretty sure members TTR400 or Rob / voxonda can happily craft for you a made to measure one with all the gizmos you could ever want.....

Looked at your idea Old Srcambler I can see how this would work I think I will go for the more clean line look although I don't have a milling machine if I did I would probably give it a go.

Dime city cycles have a lot of stuff must have spent an hour having a look they seem to have what I am after

Driller, you could remove the bar mounts on your upper tree with an angle grinder. Look underneath the tree to see that the bar mounts are hollow. If you remove them flush with the upper surface off the tree, you will have holes. I have been told that the tree is strong enough to leave the holes, but I was more comfortable having them welded closed.

Keep it on the forks while welding.. Easy for things to move if it's not held firmly..

Might have a go on the GL's top the holes it would leave are a little concerning would fill them I think +1 on the welding 754
