The A kick starter is a little rare - doesn't come up for sale very often.

I sent you a PM with links to one that is currently available (not mine).

1978 CB750A (upgrading very, very slowly)

Past bikes - Honda: SL350, CX650C, CB900C, CB1000C, CM450A; Kawasaki: several 1972 750 H2's; Suzuki: TC90J.

Bikes I want: CX650ED, a mid-sized japanese V-twin with ABS.

If you're still looking, I've got one I'll be selling here shortly. I actually have a whole bike I need to get around to parting out...

Just a heads up - The '76 kick starter is different than the '77/'78.  Due to the additional width on the plate/aluminum frame cover that the rear foot peg screws through the '76 wont clear it or at least it would be very close.  The '76 has a straight arm whereas the 77/78 has a curved arm to clear the foot peg.  We just realized this as I picked up a 76 for parts.

Do you have pics?  The Honda microfiche does show the 76 as having a different part number than the 77/78 bikes - but also shows that the 77/78 kick will fit the 76.

apologies,  IT is not the rear foot pegs.  The '76 kick starter will not clear the front foot pegs on the '77/'78 or at least is extremely close.

Sorry been real busy lately.  I missed the post asking for pics then had to dig out the parts.  buried after spring cleaning.

First Pic - '76 Lever on the Left and '77/'78 lever on the right.

Next two pics - '76 (straight bar) lever in front.

Last pic - you can see the starter lever shaft in the middle where the hole is and you can see the peg mounting plate running down the lower half of the pic just right of center.  That makes the peg stick out further on the '77/'78.  Unfortunately the bike of course has some issues and I cant show the clearance as the left foot peg wont fold up.  Also the '76 lever has some corrosion and I cant get it on the shaft yet.  The '76 may work on the '77/'78 but it would be very close if it does.

As stated I believe the '77/'78 lever can be used on a '76 as the spindle seems to bee the same part for all three.  Of course my '76 parts bike has the teeth stripped so I cant get it on.  HaHa.  But the main point is the clearance on the later models - the "76 may not clear the driver foot peg on a '77/'78.

Thanks Kandrtech for posting my pics.  May have been the size of the files, not sure.
