Hi Paul,

I'm on my way into work now where we have a slew of these things, so I'll be able to help more when I get there. First off, is it directly connected by USB or over a network ? Have you tried printing a test page from any (or only) PC attached to it ?

Also, any lights flashing on it ?

I work fixing sewing machines so where a Brother dealer.
The 250 tray paper feeder is clicking and not picking up paper. I opened up and using the mp tray, the fold down one on the front. It is flashing drum near end, change belt unit, and one color is low flashing Cyan

I did a test page and all is good.
they where throwing it away at work so i got it for free.
I'm trying to set it up as wireless. what a pain.

The reviews on the printer mentioned that wireless setup was a "hassle". For paper feed issues the manual suggests :

  • If there is paper in the paper tray, make sure it is straight. If the paper is curled,
straighten it before printing. Sometimes it is helpful to remove the paper. Turn the
stack over and put it back in the paper tray.

Reduce the amount of paper in the paper tray, and then try again.

Make sure that manual feed mode is not chosen in the printer driver.

You can download the manual at : http://support.brother.com/g/b/producttop.aspx?c=us&lang=en&prod=hl4070cdw_all
I'm wondering if the cost of the consumable that need replacing exceed the value of the printer ???
