OK, we've all had lots of fun, dammit I think even Noddy is beginning to enjoy himself. But at 14 pages and well over 300 posts there is still not a spanner turned in anger. This is probably the worst project thread ever in terms of achievement.
The way I see it, Noddy is the sole forum expert on steam pipery and I think we are all happy to leave it that way. As he plies his craft with copper and leather belts etc, there is still the major question as to whether it will ever turn a wheel. Who knows what is lurking in that motor, very likely the misdeeds of many a PO with a substantial bill likely for remedial work.
So Noddy, in all honesty, getting a sound motor from Terry makes sense. I would trust his work implicitly, and so can you. You just need to concentrate on acetylene lamps and the other accoutrements that feed this style.
We can certainly help (??) from the sidelines with the build, but at least in the knowledge that the curious creation will actually run when the time comes.
And that a decent enough standard CB will also rise phoenix like from the ashes.
So what do you say Noddy? You know it makes sense, so please extend the hand of friendship to Uncle Terry, do the deal and let's see a build get underway.
If this works out, and I have brokered a truce, I'd like a nice steam powered watch for my trouble.
