Vfour - you're welcome anywhere I go. Please do being along some first growth Haut Brion though. I'm a sucker for quality Bordeaux. We will gather up some of the members over there and make a pilgrimage of atonement to Noddys.

Meanwhile, we will just continue in our far
more civil tone agreeing/disagreeing about Australian beer. I always fancied Steinlagers myself. Especially fond of Asahi (the brew that you can only get in Japan).

I dare say that without travelling too far I could lay my hands on many of the world's finest wines. So if I can contribute, I will gladly do so.

Not impugning your good work in that respect Prokop !

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. I'm signing off now. Peace has broken out, the waters are calm and the sails are flaccid. I have persuaded the freak to disarm the torpedoes and he has retreated in a whimpering mass to the corner of the garage.

Summer beckons, and I must consider an NC35 renovation. I know, 4 cams, but we do diversity, yes ? Any takers ?

Bonne nuit tout le monde

That one is international, we would say it about Urpin, beer from Banska Bystrica in Slovaka.

Never drank good Aussie Beer mate...?   :o  If you did drink Fosters or Brisbane bitter or even Powers in its day then i would have to agree with the above, we affectionately called Brisbane Bitter "Brisbane River"... ;D :o

That joke I actually heard from aussie guy I got drunk with in Prague, funny how things and people go around.

In my opinion, anyone who's ever painted a bike in psychedelic colors (during the 70's or otherwise), has lost all right to #$%* about steampunk.  ;D

Oh come on.  That would be throwing Yoshinobu Kosaka under the bus!  I'm not such a big fan of a rigid, but this one's got a few cool things, and I happen to like the paint job, even if I never would have it on a bike I own.

That bike is killer.
Paint may or may not be everyone's taste.
But the killer part is there is substance under the paint.
It isn't a stock bike that is painted to call it "built" or "custom"
There are amazing parts on it and interesting and thought out fabrication and mods.
Real meaningful work was done.

You are 100% correct, Jaguar.  That bike is no joke.  I wouldn't appreciate the rigid ride, but it has some killer stuff (ARD mag included) and Yoshi is the real deal.  His bikes are awesome.  His shop/museum is not only cool, he actually rides his stuff, including taking them to the track.  He just had his annual bike show at Willow Springs where he runs portions of his collection.

That's a Wombat mate, a mild mannered cousin of the wicked Koala Dropbear. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Drop Bear survival tips:
Various methods suggested to deter drop bear attacks include placing forks in the hair, having Vegemite or toothpaste spread behind the ears or in the armpits, urinating on oneself, and only speaking English in an Australian accent.

They're fcuking dangerous mate, especially in Tassie (Tasmania) where they've bred with Tassie Devils, and are even more vicious than the standard Eastern Grey Dropbear.

We lost 2 of our Army Cadets to Southern Black Dropbears on an exercise at the Bucklands Military Training Area (BMTA) in 2009, talk about PTSD, I can still hear their screams as they were dragged away.

All we had was blank ammunition and pyrotechnics (training exercise) so there was fcuk all we could do to help the poor basatards, but listen to their screams and try to protect ourselves ............. ;D

I just got around to checking out this thread, saw the steampunk heading awhile ago. So, instead of welcoming someone and offering some of the knowledge that is on this forum(without which I may have not got my own bike nearly finished), there are 15 pages of #$%*ing and giving this new guy hell. I haven't noticed if he even started this project yet, after 15 pages. Let him do HIS bike, as HE wants, without all the #$%* added. They made a million CB750's, so one turned into a Steampunk bike won't make the world end. At least for me. I have better things to #$%* and cry about. Apparently, not everyone can say that.

Hey Jerry,

I think the heated commentary has given way to just some kidding around now and actual constructive help.

Lewis

Would it be fair to say he's "steaming"?

;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Apparently, not everyone can say that.

there is no steampunk knowledge here, you sort of make it up as you go along, why not donate your pop up toaster for the cause?

Actually little knowledge here that would be helpful.

The project isn't actually a motorcycle.
It is an art project that vaguely looks like a cb750.

Knowledge here of tuning, functional improvements or anything else doing with actual motorcycling is wasted.
Unless someone here is a drag queen, in that case some personal pointers might come in handy.

So if I put struts, Ard magneto, and webers on my bike is it a drag queen? :P
If it works good, it looks good...
