So if I put struts, Ard magneto, and webers on my bike is it a drag queen? :P

I think that bike has more going on than those three mods and paint.   ;)

If you're not familiar with Yoshi, I would definitely recommend checking out his shop and the bikes he builds.  The guy is one of the nicest and most knowledgeable builders and collectors at least here in California.  It's worth a visit if you make it to this part of the world.

I like it, but if I had it I'd have to fit some rear shocks and some padding on the seat........... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

No, Silly. You need a trailer hitch and a party dress to be a dragged queen.

An easier way is to go and live in Austria and call yourself Conchita. You even get to sing in the Eurovision song contest.

I thought it amusing that Wurst in German means sausage !

I dunno Kev, I watched Eurovision last night, and I thought old Conchita was pretty good? (and I thought the same about the "Wurst" thing, I'm guessing that's her stage name?) Not as good as those Polish babes though, they were hot! I'm looking forward to the final tonight! ;D

Damn, I've just discovered that Conchita won, that sucks, I haven't watched the final yet............... ;D

OK, we've all had lots of fun, dammit I think even Noddy is beginning to enjoy himself.

Scary as it may seem, I think I might be…

Who knows what is lurking in that motor, very likely the misdeeds of many a PO with a substantial bill likely for remedial work.
So Noddy, in all honesty, getting a sound motor from Terry makes sense.

It would, if what I was after was a working motor delivered to my doorstep (lest I be accused of cheque-book motorcycle-making!). Alas, I’m not. I hope there’s much remedial work to be done, and I’m expecting there is going to be, given how ham-fisted things are looking so far. I want to work on the motor, I’ve only done one before and I’d like to do another. You know, for that whole pesky learning-experience thing…

I am thinking of opening a thread called the "Betting thread with impossibly long odds" and opening it with a punt that this project will never turn a wheel in anger.

I’ll take that bet.

Noddy, I think you owe it to the peanut gallery to include at least a decorative anchor on the bike to show your pride in completely derailing the whole forum into frothing splinter groups.
Noddy, how can we help your unholy homunculus come to life?

Thanks mate, don’t suppose you’ve got a decorative anchor laying about I can use?

Shame it's night time in Oz, Noddy is probably tucked in with a nice blanky and so not much will happen today.

Yeah, the Centre goes into lockdown after 9pm. I’ve tried powering my laptop using just the warmth from the love of my cell-mate (ahem, I mean "fellow detainee") and I, but it just doesn’t seem to be working as well as we hoped. We’ll keep at it though. Practice, practice, practice!

Actually little knowledge blah blah t is an art project blah blah actual motorcycling is wasted blah blah
B1tches 10 whiners 2   Not keeping score or anything.... ;D

You left out "Arseholes trying to drag the thread back into the gutter after it has finally lightened-up: 1", Though that could possibly be 2 now I've re-engaged the Troll...

Speaking of the build, what's next?  Further deconstruction?  Partial deconstruction and mock-up of new parts/accessories?  Are you taking it down to the nitty gritty, powdercoating the frame, etc.?

I had vague plans of getting it going just as it stands, but after a brief look-over I think I'd rather open it all up and see exactly what I'm dealing with. So it'll be a full tear-down and rebuild from the ground-up (it'll need to get down to bare frame to hard-tail it anyway). Given all my tools are in boxes, and I don't have a workshop, I'll just be fiddling about with little small bits and bobs I can do. Currently I'm designing the gauges, generally making plans/designing, and ordering parts as I need them. I reckon I'll have the gauges mostly sorted in the next few weeks so there will be at least a taste of what I'm about, then maybe we can start throwing some informed judgement around...

I dunno, Stev-o, we've torn down quite a bit already, don't you think?  ;)

But yup, a lot of hub-bub over an idea and design direction before much work actually commenced. Has been some pretty funny theater lately though, thankfully. Hopefully we can just let him get on with it now and the barbs will subside from all sides.

A suggestion Noddy if I may, in all seriousness. Why not divide this project into two phases.
First and engine teardown / rebuild where we can all help you.

Second, the steambob bit on the cycle parts where in all honesty none of us can contribute and your better off doing that on your own.

You will need a running motor, so why not let us all help you with that starting now ?
