I am a little unclear what these photos have to do with anything on this thread.

It's a mystery to be sure. Though I didn't realise this thread was about what I was doing with my bike, or Steampunk, or anything really vaguely motorcycle-related. I thought it was for bashing other people's ideas and aesthetic choices. Now I'm confused...

Hey Noddy, wanna blast me a PM when there's relevant bike-talk happening? Between work and riding, I don't have time to keep up with who's miffed at who for what was said on the internet.

One thing I have not seen addressed yet.  If you go through the thread on the Honda Twin site Noddy gets near universal positive comments.  Terry, your head might explode if you try and go through that one so trust me on this. ;D  And then poor Noddy comes on here and gets more flak than the 8th Air Force.  So what is it that affects the artistic judgement of Honda Twin owners...is it the vibration?  I think I will take the XS650 for a long ride and then see if it gives me a better appreciation for Noddy's creation. ;D

I read the thread on DTT, it seems appealing to the lowest common denominator will find you all the low standards you like... Is it on Honda twins as well..?  It did cop a bit of a bashing on one site I read though so we are in good company  ;).  FFS, this bloke has posted this bike on every website on the interwebs, attention whore or what..!!!  :o 8)  Skipping down the road merrily ....look at me.....look at me..... ;D ;D :o

It has dawned a beautiful sunny day here in the south of France. I have two lady guests who are lying by the pool in bikinis. I have a Yamaha TZ250H in the living room that I am fettling. The world is good. The only steam I have seen today was when I was preparing my morning cup of Earl Grey tea.

Lets talk motorcycles.

I  was lying Terry, I have to confess.

They are only sporting half of their bikinis, so no pictures are possible. Also, I am only half heartedly fettling the TZ while really copping an eyefull. I bring them drinks from time to time, and never in a million years would they suspect that I am ogling, such are my sunnies.

La vie est belle.

Sorry Terry, they are real all right. It is simply a manifestation of the success of the strategy I have adopted for my new life. The pursuit of wine, motorcycles and ladies who view their virtue as a gift to be bestowed rather than a treasure to be hoarded.

But look, here we are hijacking Noddy's thread with frivolous chat. Shameful behaviour.

So you're telling me that you've got two scantily clad French babes sunning themselves by your pool, but you can't take a pic to share with all your SOHC friends? C'mon mate, this sounds as dodgy as Noddy's build.............. ;D

They are actually Swiss. Sadly they have to go home this evening. The Swiss misses are very underated. It's not all about cuckoo clocks with them I can tell you.

I like your pool.

So why are you fettling with a motorcycle when you have scantily clad babes within reach that you should be fettling with?  Your not batting for the other team are you?  Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;)

Let's all go over to Stev-o's  500 thread.  Noddy's kicking his butt in the view counts and nothing's happening. ;D

Some idea of what I am whittering on about : Two Ladies - Joel Grey (Cabaret, 1972)

We are a decadent lot here in France.

Skipping down the road merrily ....look at me.....look at me..... ;D ;D :o

I know! I'm such an attention-whore aren't I!? I mean, I spend most of my days just ramming my opinions down other people's throats.. daily.. I mean, I just can't get enough of everyone knowing exactly what I think about anything that I don't agree with... and GGEEEEEEZZZ do I bang on about it!? Personally, I don't think it ever gets boring...

Sigh... Yup, I posted it on Hondatwins first, as it was a Honda twin. And yes, they were a great forum to be a part of, helpful, considerate and just gosh-darn nice folks, even when they didn't agree with what I was doing. Almost like real grown-up humans. Posted it later on DoTheTon as a few guys at Honda Twins suggested some people over there might be interested. That is the sum-total of where I've posted it.

So what is it that affects the artistic judgement of Honda Twin owners...is it the vibration?

Maybe they're just not narrow-minded old codgers who need to post up pictures of girls in bikinis on other people's build threads because they've got nothing better to do? Hard to be sure though. Maybe you can tell me what you think? I'm in the dark a bit on that.

Steampunk is dead

Alas, so are my rims.

#$%*. Was that some kind of motorcycle reference?

Though the rusted out spokes gave me a cool idea. I was planning on powder-coating or painting the new spokes black, but now I'm thinking a light surface coating of rust, then hit it with some Penetrol, will look better and suit the "patina" theme of the bike.

"Oh. My. God. But Noddy, Honda never did that, and Terry or Retro surely wouldn't do it either, it clearly must be 'wrong'". I hear you say.
"What about the weakening of the spokes?" I hear at least someone with a modicum of insight might add somewhere between the baying crowds...
Well, perhaps I can go a heavier gauge spoke to counter it? Ot perhaps a light surface coat of rust probably won't make a huge difference? Though, you know what, I am actually open to opinions on that one...

Ok folks, enough about me again, back your regular scheduled programming... I'm hoping they'll stop putting re-runs on soon...

HAHAHAHA, its ok we understand that you don't get it , your lame examples are ridiculous, no one in their right mind would use those rims or suggest that , but at least they gave you a subject for your rant, took 2 days to work it out too... ;D

For #$%*ssake Retro. Do you need your prescription adjusted? I wasn't suggesting I use those rims. I was pointing out that the rims were shagged (Dead. Like Steampunk). The rims that came off of my bike. The ones in the picture. That are clearly useless.

I was suggesting that I liked the patina of the old #$%*ty spokes. The ones that came off of my bike. The ones in the picture. The ones I won't be re-using because they are clearly too far gone  (are you keeping up Retro? Do I need to slow it down some more for you?). So that perhaps when I get my new (which is why I used the word "new" in the first place) spokes, that I might initiate some surface rust to make the spokes dark coloured instead of painting or powder-coating them. Got it? Let me know if you need my niece to visit you and help with your reading and comprehension.

Yeah I wouldn't use those rims but the spokes I would use no problem I am a cheap bastard though :) All I can say is that after reading through 21 pages of crap less talk more chop chop. I look forward to what you can do with this project and wish you the best of luck.
