...this is so much fun... Google 'maduncle steampunk' ...

You sir, are a masochist! I'd be careful using words like that around here though, you liable to get lynched as well...

I remember you well from Hondatwins Cliff, the Black Bomber/High Tea Racer etc, very nice builds, and I've been a follower on those threads for a while. I didn't realise you were such a steampunker though!

But Noddy's gauges and headlight are better, IMO.

Nice of you say Ron, and thank you, but that OEM bike is just beautiful! No way mine is going to end up that nice...

Nice wood.

I still have those brass hand grips from India if you want Noddy.

They look very nice, your friend sure has some turning skills. Are those small markings on the side (not the base) for the holes to let the wiring through? Or do you plan to route that differently?

Not sure which bit you are referring to? But the wiring will be coming out where the cables come out, you can just see it in the top right here (they'll be heat-shrinked in black though):

Brass grips!

You could wrap a bit of leather around them too.

Yep, absolutely, thanks mate! Exactly what I've done with Isabel (and exactly the same grips)! But yep, if you want to offload them I'll definitely take them off your hands. PM me with how much you want and we'll sort out the details.

That answered it, I couldn't see the holes in the other shot. Very nice.

Still can't say I'm sold on the whole concept thing, but you gotta be blind or stupid not to appreciate the workmanship in those gauges. Very, very nice indeed.

Looking forward to the next installment :)

That a headlight? Really nice looking. Got anything up your sleeve for brake and clutch levers?

I agree that their bike is nice.  But their gauges are pretty standard looking; whereas, yours have an ancient nautical feel to them.  Which pretty much perfectly depicts the whole steampunk genre in my mind.  Your headlight carries that same theme along as well.

I like the leather wrapped brass handles, too.  Were those the ones from maduncle?  If so, you did a very nice job with them.

They are indeed. Speaking of LEDs, forgot this one:

Damn...that's just sexy.  I really like those gauges a lot!  Lit up like that, they're even sexier.

It's nice to see your work get recognition after all the hullabaloo initially. Guess you'd made believers of some  ;)

Really dig the bars and levers, and the clocks look very smart installed!

Great work there - but do the lights have that authentic candle light flicker?

Or the standard Honda flicker?

I'll second that one 754. I almost abandoned it because of the nastiness towards Noddy and his vision. I'm glad I didn't and I'm even more glad that he didn't. When it's done this bike will be a legit 2015 bike of the year contender.

I agree.  This may end up being one of the most unique looking bikes to come out of this forum.  Most people would've withered under the scrutiny of this thread's beginning remarks.  To stick to your vision, and to carry out that vision in every part I've seen so far is very admirable.  The attention to detail and to replicate the old-timey look is right on the money.
