pd pilot jet tapping???

Stupid question... Can i tap my pd carbs pilot jet hole so i can just order tge screw ins? I cannot find 42s for the press in style anywhere but ontario canada. Everyone is sold out. Thanks

You could with a bottoming tap, I wouldn't use regular because you would only actually catch a couple threads that way.

I have thought about this myself but I don't have pd's so I haven't worried too much. Some of the round tops have little inserts there that are stronger than the regular carb body. One rack I have doesn't have them, and has a stripped pilot. Just a thought, If you were to do it

Yeah thats who ive found em with but it says they are in canada and i dont know what shipping is time/money

Be aware the aftermarket push in slo jets may not run true to size.
