Its a 73. I have a fresh tube of Hondabond, not james. lately I have been feeling real bad, hands and elbow, cant do squat. So , I just sit in my comfy chair with a beer and some tunes and stare at the bike and contemplate what I am going to do next with my Hondaman book, shop manual, and Ahem, you know, its Washington state, ........Use yer imagination.

I like the look of the 4-2 headers.  Have you considered reverse megaphones instead of peashooters?

Yeah,I looked at all the mufflers out there. I like the peashooters, thought they would compliment the fairing. (even though I take off the fairing in the summer)

Doctor wants me to take off a whole week,the busiest week at work this year because of my elbow. I am taking today and the weekend. Hopefully I will feel better soon. Its hard to do things with your opposite hand. So my poor bike just sits and waits. Sigh. I will at least take off my cam ,rockers,tower etc. Slowly and with much swearing and awkwardness.

I discovered I will need to heli coil a rocker tower bolt hole. So it goes. Is that the reccomended solution? Also, I dropped an 8mm wrench down my camshaft hole because I am an idiot and forgot to plug it with a rag. With a flashlight , piece of stainless wire and patience I got it out of there , whew. That was close. The pucks were leaking I think, The right side middle one. It was evident as far as I can tell. The new ones I got are obviously thicker. Pics soon.

repaired one of the 6mm cam holder threads with a helicoil today, easy . Easier than i thought. whew. One step at a time, I can only do about 10-15 min at a time each day. drilled extra oil holes in the cam towers ala Hondamans book. I have some Stainless Rod, polished 12mm. Is it hard enough to make my own rocker shafts ? I got enough to make 2 bikes if it is. Not saying I will , but I used it in my drill to hone / smooth out where new oil holes are (no burrs ,etc) It fit just like the rocker shaft , have not measured it yet with a caliper though. I will mon nite.coming along ...

Nice.  I had to fish a thin plastic piston ring clamp ring out of the case.  Well, my wife actually did because my fingers are too big and at the end of my patience rope. ;D
Be sure to use thread sealer on those cam tower studs.

I will, thanks. Is it true that the front 6mm cam tower mounting bolt threads end up open to atmosphere,or is it sealed ,open to engine ?I cant really squeeze my head in enough to see with a flashlight ?

I think it might be just on the F heads, but don't quote me.
If you have the tower studs or bolts out you could spray air to verify, or just add the sealant as a precaution.

After reading about Torque wrench tutorial's and how to properly use them, I probably caused my own problems. At least I got a couple of years before a leak. I have a Standard torque wrench with the Bar scale , it is not digital. AND, I was doing all of this with just the Manuals and the advice on this forum. I know I need to helicoil more threads on my head. I am worried that I may not have torqued my HD studs correctly as well. Sigh.

My Bike is still just sitting there with no love. Sigh. Physical therapy and not using my arm is a sloooowwwww process. I am quitting my job this week and starting another in Canadia. A real man's Job at a Sawmill. Yikes. Full bennies, room for advancement, REAL good pay. Lets hope they dont put me on the green chain. Whatever , I'll clean toilets for the money I will make.  On the subject at hand, I think I will make shims out of brass to put under the pucks under the cam towers just for extra sealing.

I made puck shims, and decided not to use them as I found some good pucks. 
I'll have to check their thickness as I dont recall.  I think they might be .005"
I've also got an assortment of other rubber bits I bought but didnt use.
