Why do you always support these EBAY rip off artists??? You did the same thing to me when I complained about getting ripped off last year. A thief is a thief and they shouldn't be tolerated or coddled. I think these guys should have a finger cut off everytime they steal something. After ten times they won't be stealing anything anymore. Apparently you've never bee ripped off before.

BTW, I've been looking all over the site for the post you're referencing and can't find it.
Could you please post a link. I'd also be interested in the outcome of your situation.

Thanks

 Gift......

I am leery of anyone who would try to save a few shekels by referring to an item as "a gift" to
stiff eBay charges.

I have to use eBay & am no real fan of them, but I would not try to stiff them by using the "gift" ruse.

Unfortunately, ebay is almost an unnecessary evil for me.  I've given them a ton of fees over the years.  I only do the gift thing on ebay & paypal - usually when dealing with guys from this forum.  Probably still will from time to time.  I was trying to save him some money.   Here's the tank:

Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

I've got some sympathy for the seller, not that I'm having a pop at you GJ. I sold a nine year old aria helmet once for good money, only for the buyer to complain that the interior was worn and he didn't think he should have paid that much. He asked for a partial refund to cover the cost of a new interior, which I gave him without argument. He then went on to give me negative feedback anyway and all eBay would say was that if I felt I had been slandered I should take legal advice! The lid was clearly listed as nine years old by the way, with a dozen high res pictures.

If the 'pissed off' thread had been around then, I'd have been on it. Not saying you shouldn't be alarmed when you see negative feedback, but it doesn't always tell the whole story.

Unfortuanatly, eBay took the buyer feedback options away from sellers. Now a seller only has the option of possitive feedback or no feedback at all. I know some of the justification was to prevent retaliatory feedback, but hardly a balanced rating system. The only management tool eBay provides sellers is the "Blocked Bidders List" but that list isn't typically populated until after a sale or dispute.

There used to be an eBay/SOHC4 member cross reference list. I couldn't find it with a search. Anybody have a link to it? There are a few names I'd like to add to my Blocked Bidders List.

Oldskool..
Put as is where is in your auction. And tell the guy to rotate.
He wanted to win, but then had sellers remorse..
Nothing stopped him from asking for more pics of the interior.
Did you let him leave feedback first?  Never do that, transaction is over when buyer receives and let's you know..

No Frank, neither of us had left any feedback to the point of me refunding him, we were just exchanging emails, I always try to keep people happy. But as soon as the refund went through, he stung me. I didn't leave him any feedback, only other option being to leave positive. I did email him after though, to tell him that no-one in their right mind would buy a nine year old helmet in the first place. Of course I never heard any more.

At least you left him to question his sanity and the usefulness of the purchase.

greenjeans just curious what his ebay handle is, is he from Michigan, and which tank? I don't think it would be against any rules to post the original ad if you have it. This all sounds really familiar.

So you call me out and accuse me of being a “Rip off Artist” sympathiser and when I politely ask for a link to said remark, you go underground! I never got upset or fired back at you for your accusations but I do expect a response. I’ve looked all over the site for this alleged comment and can’t find it, so post a link.

I accidently bought a hot truck that I just gave back yesterday, and yes, I'm out a bunch like a fool as it stands. If the guy shares his insurance claim is yet to be seen.  Just glad I didn't do any needed service on the thing then I' could have  really been out.

I'm sorry Fiddy, I stole that truck, I can't help myself, I just love stealing trucks, it's a sickness........... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I bought a big load of some nice antique furniture and smalls from an estate once from what I thought was one of the Ladies daughters. I found out later when the police contacted me sometime quite later that the person was not actually a daughter but a caretaker who was selling all the old ladies stuff when she was in the hospital on her death bed  ::)  ::)  Had to go to court a couple of times to testify etc. and the caretaker got some time in the slammer  :)
Its an interesting world out there in the underbelly.

Ok, Duanob sent me the link to my editorial indiscretions and I guess an expressed urgency to file a Paypal claim really means "I'm in with the eBay thieving SOB's". Would help if we all had the phrase decoder card you use Duanob.
