Introduction
« on: April 24, 2014, 03:24:20 PM »
Hello there community! I felt it necessary  to introduce myself. I am a 31 year guy and am new to the world of motorcycling. I just bought my first bike. It's a 1971 CB750K1. It's in decent shape, though it does need some stuff done. I have no experience with mechanics really. I've done some wrenching on bicycles.

Off the bat the bike needed new gaiters, a bug in the electrics sorted, the front caliper re-built and some help with ignition. I sent it off to MotoFactory here in Portland and they put in a new Dyna electronic ignition, replaced the fork seals and gaiters, rebuilt the caliper and sorted out the blinker issue.

They gave me some recommended stuff to do like replace the bars as they are a bit bent, clean the carbs and give her a tune. They also said there are some oil leaks to be addressed, but nothing serious.

I really like this bike, and am planning on learning how to do the maintenance myself and doing some restoration. One thing I do plan on doing is replacing the 4-into-4 with 4-into-1 or 2. Does anyone have any recommendations on that? I'm sure this isn't the proper place for that question, and, once I learn the layout of this forum, I will ask again in the proper spot.

That's enough from me! Have fun out there and be safe!
