All I can say is wow! That is one pretty toilet tank!  8)

See if you can guess the steps to accomplish that? Anyone?

decals and powder coat won't work.   Heat is too high and the powder needs an electrical charge to stick - the decal would diminish that.

Thats what i was thinking. Vinyl is more of an insulator than a conductor.

Cured powder is an insulator also, yet I can do up to 10 coats of powder. I can also coat glass, wood, rocks, what ever.
Here's one for ya. This toilet tank is made of porcelain but I was able to coat it in 3 coats, the black, the orange and the white are a second coat and a clear top coat. All the graphics are powder NOT vinyl.

I wasn't doubting you at all, powderman. I have done multiple coats of powder, I know that in theory it shouldnt attract the charged powder, but it does, the question is how? Whats the science behind it? I know people have powdercoated all types of items, even some thicker plastic, but i thought they use a liquidizer. Anyway very nice tank!  Do you still crank it up to 400degrees, or just enough to run out the powder?

I would assume you do it somewhat like paint. Do the areas in orange and white, then tape off all the graphics and do the black. Finishing it with a clear. I guess you could do the opposite as well, but I haven't done many graphics in powder so I cant say for sure.

Some items you can put aluminum foil inside and the charge will attract through the item. In this case I just heated the part up to where the powder would flow on contact and use the electrical charge. Shot the white bar and then laid the Harley name decal and shot the surrounding area with the orange removing the decal after the powder started to flow. Full, cure then laid the orange decal and another white before shooting the whole thing black, let flow, remove the decals and then full cure and repeat with clear coat.
Most plastics can't be done because the part temp has to reach 400* for 10 minutes for the powder to fully cure.

Here's the deal on the toilet tank. It was part of my "Sports Rivals" collection. I powder coat your teams logo on the tank and your rivals team logo in the bowl.  So can piss on them. ;D
