Anyone interested in trying to do a provincial sohc get-together next year? Is there an existing get together somewhere in the province?

Anyone going to the Bike Show in Abbotsford in January?

I lived in Powell River for a year and really enjoyed the ferries; first on, first off. The ride up the lower Sunshine Coast was always fun.

The challenge at this time of the year is how the ride over the Coq. would be. And the Canyon might not be much better! Having resigned myself to sitting out the rest of the season I'm quite excited that I might be able to get a couple of rides in to my new posting in Salmon Arm before the snow flies.

I'll stay in touch with this but it's difficult for me to plan so far ahead.  I might not even have a CB on the road next summer.  Could I ride something else from the 70s?

Frankly, anyone who comes out for a ride on any older bike is always welcome. I'm not a Honda snob.

If anyone is interested in riding around BC lemme know before it gets too cold. I went up to Squamish last weekend and I really need something to break the wind ie. fairing (but small!). I'd like to do the sunshine coast thing I'm new to BC.

Get yourself a copy of 'Destination Highways' (most dealers have it) which will give you a feel for what riding is like in the southern interior of the province. I'm not sure I agree with their choices for 'top 5' roads in the province; you'll have to ride them and see.

The lower Sunshine Coast (Langdale to Earls Cove) is a nice ride, especially once you get north of Sechelt. At this time of the year there shouldn't be too much RV traffic so you can really enjoy the bends. The upper Sunshine Coast is less interesting with fewer bends, and indeed less road. It ends at Lund, the terminus of 'the longest highway in the world, Highway 101'.

Not at all. Just trying to be 'funny'.

There are times when I regret not living in a part of the province that I could ride all year round, but then I take a look at the cost (financial and quality of living) of living in said places and I realise how lucky I really am.

And the off-season is a good time to do all those maintenance chores that might get put off in an all-year-round riding locale. Plus there is that anticipation of the riding season to come.

I hear you - just back from cancelling my plates - had them for one month ($38.) but did put 1300 miles on the rebuilt machine - and yes, there is a list 'to do' in the wood heated shop on the bike this winter ;D glad the difficult chores are finished and the more fun puttering and admiring is to come. Its a great way to spend those winter weekends..

Stereo is a must. And the beer fridge will be front and centre. No room for a big chair, though.

Now, how did you know that is the problem? I don't own a car so it's 'she who will be obeyed' who will have to park outside!

Winter? It's 16 in Victoria today. I'd be interested in a SOHC get together too. Sounds like fun - there's got to be number of them around.

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the Vancouver area, preferably an independent capable of doing a 750 engine and some other CB750 work? I've always had British bikes and the Brit Owners club rag always had adds for people/shops specializing in Brit bikes but I know of no publication for CBs or even Hondas.
Thanks.
