1973 Honda Cb350f 2nd time around build 05-09-14
« on: January 25, 2014, 07:36:58 AM »
Hey Guys thought I would post again in here.  Here is the story I got this bike back in 2009 and started resto-modding in but I took too much on at once with too little money and ran into many problems and lost motivation very quickly.  So I put the cover on the bike and let her sleep for a few years till I was able to restore her the right way.

Here is how I left the bike in May 2010

So now since I am starting to let's call it re-re-restore it hopefully we can get it right this time

So instead of tackling the bike all at once and losing motivation I have decided to do one section of the bike at a time.  So this weekend I will be working on the rear wheel assembly.

Plans for the weekend is to take the rear wheel assembly off and:
- Re-Polish the hub, spokes, rim (because sitting outside for almost 3 years has caused those parts to get all oxidated with cloudy and black speckled spots.
- switch out the rear drum brakes with new EBC grooved brakes
- switch out the rear wheel bearings and do a detailed clean of the hub
- switch out the bearing retainer
- replace the rear sprocket with new 38t jt rear sprocket
- new tire strip, tire tube, and new avon am26 tire
- and clean, polish, and grease up all parts on the rear wheel up.

So that is the plan this weekend I will post pictures once done.

So with the rear wheel completely redone to make like new and sitting in a closest I finally after a long time of searching found a original giuliari seat with tool box for the cb350f (with the help of some friends).  So I decided to take a few pics of the original seat before it gets restored cause all us 350 owners know how rare this seat is!

and yes the bike is ungodly dirty right now i leaf blowed all the dirt off the roof and patio and forgot to cover the bike...so be it

So I have all the stuff to restore it (new cover, hardware, trim, foam, etc).  I will post pictures when the seat has been completely restored

not much new to report other then decided to strip it all down and have a really good professional blast it and seal it and powder coat many parts.  meanwhile I cleaned the living heck out of all the parts getting down to the nuts and bolts and washers.  if I am going to try to restore this bike again why not go all the way to the bits even cleaning out the grooves of the threads lol!

heres a few pictures

Ill try to stay on it more and post pictures unfortunately my schedule is very busy
hope all is well with all

James

keep the pictures coming.  Several of us are restoring 350fs.  It's a rare SOHC so let's get more of them on the road.  I'm restoring mine to stock.
