Topic: How to know when to do a bottom end rebuild

Just wondering how do you guys know when to do a bottom end rebuild?  thanks

I think most guys replace the main and big end bearings as part of their rebuilds, not necessarily because they think the engine is knocking, but just as insurance. Of all the 750 engines I've pulled apart, there were probably only two that needed a bottom end rebuild, due to oil starvation. Cheers, Terry.
