CB750 Dunstall tank value?
« on: April 27, 2014, 07:34:15 PM »
Hey guys i need some advice. I found a guy that has some 750 stuff and wants to sell it as a group.

One of the items is a like-new unused Dunstall tank complete with cap still in the original yellow gel-coat. the only problem is it has a chip about the size of a nickel on it.

Now i dont really have a use for this and would be looking to re-sell it but i realize that this would likely have been part of a complete kit. What is this thing worth by itself if i was to buy the lot and attempt to resell the tank?

An original Dunstall tank is basically unusable due to being made of poly resin which is not compatible with modern gas.  The chip is through the gelcoat and into the fiberglass mat as well.  I would say $100-200 max.  Glass From the Past makes a replica Dunstall tank for the CB750 that is compatible with modern gas.  You would be selling to someone wants an original for some reason not really for use.

If it was cheap enough, I might be interested in it to cut the bottom out and have a smaller steel tank made to fit inside.  Let me know if you get it and what you want for it.
