CB500/550 swap clutch
« on: April 28, 2014, 05:18:15 PM »
I swapped a 550 motor from a 1974 bike into my 73 CB500. I purchased motor mounts from eBay so that it would have the correct bracket for the clutch cable. I installed the motor this weekend but do not have enough clearance for the clutch cable to mount or work properly. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Is it just the photos or is your clutch arm actually that flat? It's supposed to have more of a bend to it. Like this:

if your running out of travel make sure that the cam inside the housing is the correct way on its shaft, its not the snail curved part that contacts the release rod internal lever but the flat section actually does the pushing!if the lever is too high that might be your problem along with the already tampered with external arm?

Yeah. External arm is that flat. Looks like I'm searching for one of those.
