Full Fairing pics
« on: April 30, 2014, 08:02:03 AM »
hey all, lets see the variety of Different fairings we can come up with. I'll start. Its a Rickman Centura, what else is out there besides the Windjammer ( nothing wrong with that )

Is this thread for SOHC Hondas only??
I just completed a Dunstall GS1000 Suzuki. Guess the styling could have been used on the Honda as well.

Holy crap! I can't believe you could Fcuk up an otherwise pristine example of motorcycle history with an atrocious gawd awful piece of plastic. Who does shot like this? Have you no shame? No sense of good taste? You'd be better off tossing it in the trash compactor that rolling it out in public.

Nice try, comes bit short.  Fairing helps to put on some serious miles, but if you run coffee shop queen, I guess you will not approve.  Unlike steampunk siht, fairing is functional.

70CB750:  I am fairly certain that was blatant sarcasm from FJ.  I would hardly call his bike a coffee shop queen.  His build skills are pretty amazing and his mods are definitely function/performance focused.    I assume you were just being sarcastic, too.  ;)

P.S.  I dig the Rickman fairing.  Not as much of a fan of the Windjammer, unless you are striving for a Purple Rain replica!

Maybe if you go copper.  Copper paint adds about 15hp.

Thanks, Bart! I haven't gotten the free funds to reproduce the Daytona fairing yet but I do manufacture the classic Read-Titan Daytona tank in an ethanol-safe material, as well as the two styles of R-T Daytona seat. RR

How much turbulence from those?

A couple of those look really good with tallish windshields for more protection.

I have a Shoei fairing (sitting in a shed) with a Gustafson Plastics tall windscreen and a short bubble screen I made myself.  If I sit really tall with the bubble, i can get above the turbulence.  The Gustafson windscreen is just noise.

I've had the common, cheap, "cafe" fairing with purplish windscreen.  Again, sit really straight or there's a roar.

I've used all these with Shoei helmets that are quiet in clean air.

The Vetter Windjammer may be, um, humble, but it leaves the rider in a big pocket of air.

How quiet are your fairings or are they not for all-day riding?

Sure the Dunstall fairing is an all day fairing but the Dunstall riding position is only good for about 2 hours.
