Parking Brake Parts Needed!
« on: May 02, 2014, 06:06:59 AM »
Nearing completion of the 78' 750A I applied the parking brake (previously done many times before) and no parking brake at all!  Pulled the cover and discovered some PO had welded the ratchet lever end where the cable hooks to and it finally gave up the ghost.  Parking brake cable end has broken cable wires and (IMO) no longer safe.  With the parking brake an essential component of the 750A I'm in dire need of the following parts prior to riding after 7 weeks of major system rebuilds:

Ratchet Lever (Honda Part # 46602-393-770)

Parking Brake Cable (Honda Part # 46620-393-772)

Hopefully someone out there has a "parts bike" and willing to part with these two items.  I live in Newport News, VA and can be reached at jbmetoo103@verizon.net.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the accurate description provided of the parts he had and prompt shipping by BILL BENTON on the much needed parking brake components.  They arrived today and I'm in the process of getting the necessary parts installed.

THANKS, BILL!

I have wondered the same thing.  In all my riding years I've never parked a bike in gear.  I just maneuver the bike to be "tail down" if the parking area is sloped...or put it on the center stand.  Nixon, like you I haven't used my parking brake...nit sure it even works.
