1970 CB750K0 what is it?
« on: May 04, 2014, 09:43:32 AM »
hey all

bike is pretty much stripped down and getting ready to pull the motor. the manual makes it sound pretty easy to wiggle out of the frame from the right side, IS IT THAT EASY? also, I have what looks to be a bolt-on oil cooler that fits where there oil filter housing sits? anybody recognize this? two questions I have right now is will that oil cooler attachment need to come off to remove the motor AND does anybody have any usefull tips or tricks to get the motor out. once its out I can finish stripping the frame down and get it into powder coating.

see pics attached.

thanks a lot!

Yes take off the oil cooler attachment, you need every little bit of clearance you can get.  What's the engine serial number out of curiosity ? You will get tips on getting it out and since your almost done stripping most will suggest flopping it on its side and lifting the frame off.

Yes on taking adaptor off. Is the cooler. Sort of square with tubes looped over on top? I think a Thermo_chem.

hey guys

thanks for the info. my engine # is CB750E-1021777. motor is out of frame and frame will go in for blasting in the next few days. good news as well 754 as after I pulled the rear wheel I checked the hub and it is indeed the 2 hole version which I believe you said was better. will update mor with some pics a little later.

thx

It's not better, just the correct hub. Check your frame for rot on the bottom rail, in the kickstand area.. Will look for the c-stand this week..
