Trailer is loaded and I'm finishing up a few things on the K5 before the first test and tune at my home track! Only 15 miles from my house!

This track was closed 6 months ago for what seemed to be for good. In the last 6 weeks there has been alot of work done and today is opening day!

I love time slips  ;D

Good luck Trey and be safe. Take someone with you- never go to the dragstrip alone.

That's a good point Frank. We see this all the time at our race meets, people showing up alone. There have been times when it was necessary to step in when someone was injured and hospitalized. Our group is like a damn big family so there are always people to help. That said though it's well worth it to have company, can't be too safe.

Last night was great, aside from sitting in line with hundreds of cars and only making two passes..

Cut my best E.T to date but managed to get a little hot on the clutch and caught my first red light  >:(

Haha, had to happen eventually. Happy it was in practice.. Still haven't hit that 13.xx or 100mph yet.

About to load up and try again tonight!!

I got a working air shifter now, gonna try it tonight and see how much time we can shave off the ET

Keep at it Trey. It will just get better. Gonna miss hangin with everyone at Memphis.

Have you replaced the cam yet? If not do so if you want to see 13's!

Made another 2 passes last night. Fastest MPH to date and air shifter worked like a charm all night.

First pass looked great but played a little too much on the clutch for a jolty start and my helmet fogged on the first light so I was pretty much blind going down the track listening to the motor for shift points.

Second pass had trouble getting traction and went a little right but nothing too bad. Going to do a full head to toe on the bike and try to have it ready for Memphis.

Glad you got some passes in Trey. Consistency is what wins races. One round at a time. The 13's will come so don't get to caught up in putting up numbers on the scoreboard. Pops will be the first to tell you, being fast never won a bracket race. Better your reactions times, be consistent in the launch and repeat your dial in each time- that's what gets you to the winners circle. More seat time is the main thing that'll make the overall package come together in the end.

I'm just happy this has all come to a point where I am on the track and having more fun than ever. The progress is addicting and I have dreams of being a champion racer someday.

In the shop late tonight.. Valves, carbs, timing.. Triple checking everything and debating on changing gears after a discussion between the pros on facebook. After hearing Saturdays pass Sam mentioned that I am geared way too high. I agree as I am running the same gearing as cobra girl but with stock HP. Or less  :(

One small step at a time we're getting there  ;D

One tooth up on the front and down two teeth on the rear = starting point you will need, got a garage full of KZ gears that everyone said were the right ratio = ran one up two down for 17 years, got dead on the dials but not the fastest MPH ........ When the start paying money for best MPH in street ET. , NEVER-EVER then you work on that game.
Be careful of that high water in tour neck of the woods, had to use a ZODIAC RUBBER BOAT many times to get folks out of harms way ........ didn't save them all !!!!

Glad you got the points straight before this weekends race Bill. Things tend to get cloudy as time passes. Now lets all try to make some rounds and advance in the points. I missed a chance on some much needed seat time this past weekend on the Honda while attempting to race the wife's bike. Hind sight says i should have stayed on the SOHC since we only get one time run saturday. Oh well, i'll have my buy back money ready for both days.

Jerry, i'll be in line with the other SOHC bikes.

I also plan to run Crazy 8's on my old Kaw. The wife will be running pro ET. We've got one team member running super comp and 2 running top gas. I'll be busy either racing or as pit crew. Its going to be a long, hot weekend ahead.

FRANK: That 's the gear set up for the 1981 CM400A must be right shift light shining in my face 5 yards past the 1320' in high gear.  Will work on the 1978 CB750A set up [ gear ratios ] soon. With Trey saying he could not see thru a fogged shield to shift he should buy a shift light that glows red in your face at the top RPM'S for his bike = anyone looking at a tach to shift will have changing numbers most passes !  Walk up and down the lanes and look at all the shift lights = everybody [ except the folks with AUTO SHIFT ] got this tool that gives you the same rpm shift every pass without taking your eyes off the lane you are going down....... one missed intensity on your pass can be a disaster in a heart beat.

If i can get my friends to set aside going into Memphis to party on friday evening, maybe Trey and I can hook up his shift light. I guess he'll have his own transportation and can let Bill go scouting ahead- priorities!!!!!!!!!!

I'm down with that Frankie, I'm all about the business on trips like this  ;)

I'll bring the shift minder if you can bring the parts needed to hook the green cable to my coils?

We gonna have fun either way  8)
