And, Noel, I knew folks in the Pentagon. Doesn't make my point any better or worse.
Knowing someone on the plane doesn't mean anything in this discussion, other than you hope
it was just like it was presented to you by the media and government since the alternative lets
you in on how expendable we all are to the government. Just ask the folks at Waco.

No, I'm not an explosives expert. But I can read and listen to explosives experts, I can hear eyewitness accounts
of explosions, I can see columns cut, I can view the colapse of WTC 7 and even without experience in
blowing buildings see it for what it is. I know first hand about heating steel and with that know an open fire
just doesn't do the deed in that amount of time. Experts do not agree, and those who offer the agreed upon
explanation (and there are more who disagree)  offer no scientific evidence.

But, I guess Firecracker has rung the bell so we gotta stop meeting like this :)

The difference between Waco and 9/11 is that Waco was about plain government stupidity.

Trying to turn 9/11 into a government conspiracy, however, requires a belief that the same monumentally idiotic government behind Waco is also capable of the most elaborate, carefully orchestrated hoax in all of human history.

You say you can tell it was a conspiracy just by watching the buildings fall? Well then I can tell such a scheme is beyond the ability of our government just by watching George W. Bush speak.  :D

Particularly this week. Diplomacy does not seem to be one of his strong suits. But then, foot in mouth disease seems to be a common affliction among all politicians. Reminds me of a line from a Robin Williams movie, "Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often and for the same reason." ;D

Would I be right in thinking that this piece of history, conspiracy or no conspiracy, will never be satisfactorily rationalised to everyones liking?

My personal philosophy is that if I was not there as a witness then all bets are off as to what happened. Having said that I have to admit that if this was a conspiracy I cannot think of any organisation in the world that would have the ability to do so many complex things all at the same time, and have them come off without any hitches....

Ahh Jeez Rocking-M..You had me on side with your reasoned post about American policy and politics and then you say something about "the beams were cleary cut through"..  I say again, if you think your own government is more of a threat to you than the f*cking Islamofascists you clearly have a screw loose. Time for a reality check old son!!

I'm glad I live in Canada!

I do fear anyone who doesn't mind dying to achieve their aims. Personally I have a lot more stuff I want to do in what is left of my life, so I'm happy to let the powers-that-be take whatever steps are necessary to help that be a reality, even at the expense of a loss of some freedom.

So what would people say if it did end up being true then? What if there actually was a conspiracy?
If people dont ask these questions, our government can get away with even more. I do believe elements of our govt did have some hand in 9-11. There was more that should have been done and NO ONE can deny that. NONE of those planes should have even made it to the towers, maybe 1 AT MOST.  They deviated from their airspace for way too long that we could have had jets up to intercept those planes. There is still NO good answer on why that slip up happened.

Perhaps no one wanted to be the 'one' to order the attack on loaded passenger planes.....and who now has to live with his or her conscience.

Maybe but now they have to live with the fact that those people on the planes plus more died cause they did nothing.
The jets should have been sent up anyways to try and turn the plane from its course, if it would not turn then it could have been shot down.

Very good point Elder.

As to Nick, your in Canada where you prefer security to freedom,
so as Ben Franklin said,  "you deserve neither". And that is damn well
what you'll find you have soon enough.

Can't speak for other Canadians, but in my opinion I have an abundance of freedom and security.

We have a police force that is second to none. What our armed forces lack in modern ordnance they make up for in professionalism and courage. My government tells me to wear a helmet when I ride my motorcycle. I do not need to be told of the merits of wearing one, it being simple common sense. There isn't much more of my 'freedom' being taken away that I can think of.

Best of all, the chances of me meeting a good ol' boy with a gun waving in my face because he doesn't like the colour of my skin or the way I drive my car, are slim to non-existent.

Just my 44 cents worth. (4 cents + inflation)

Because this is a friendly forum, and I want to keep it that way, I feel I should recommend using lube.

Seriously, let's agree to disagree and try to be the nicest people you'll meet on a Honda...

 :-*

BTW, speaking of a huge conspiracy, how many of you are in on my wife's plan to keep me from riding my bike as often as I want to?  I know the government is involved...

 ;D >:( ;D

nick,im glad the no gun thing works for ya`ll,that wont work by a long shot here.im assuming your police force does its job the way its supposed to be done, they are pro-active instead of reactive.our police forces here in the states are reactive, you dont see them until they need to solve a crime or they want to harrass you because of what you ride or drive or what color your skin may be.
