This is genuinely disappointing. First, I enjoyed heading up to Milwaukee for the day. Second, the Road America show conflicts with the Gilmore show every year and now if I choose Gilmore (as I have in the past) I will also miss Rockerbox.

This is not an improvement in the even in my opinion.

Something was bound to happen with Rockerbox. Every year a new problem showed up. The neighborhood was starting to get tired of it causing problems. And frankly it just plain out grew the area it was being held. Its not easy to close more city blocks to expand. It was just getting too big for the couple of guys who set it up every year.
As much as I liked the neighborhood motorcycle show feel it had, I think Road America just holds so much more potential to increase attendance at the show and the races. Plus the added benefit of the swap meet.
I know there are issue with other shows going on, but happens no matter what. I believe the date Rockerbox was held every year, the moto guzzi guy could never make because their show.

I for one, am happy to see this at Road America. Now there is a #$%*in motor show, swap meet, and all day motorcycle races. It’ll be one hell of a weekend.

I assumed part of the motivation was how large Rockerbox was getting and difficulty holding it on public streets.

Mods vs Rockers has this same issue in Chicago. Last year they moved it north a couple miles where they had some parking lots they could incorporate./ But traffic in and out was still a pain in the ass. This year they have changed the name to Motoblot and moved it down to an old commercial area west of the Chicago Loop where blocking off streets and traffic should be less of a problem and access is easier because it's right off a highway rather than buried in a residential area near the lake.

I am pissed about this as well.  Rockerbox was my favorite show because of how unique it was...cool neighborhood in Milwaukee and all...it was fun.  Plus now, if I want to go, I have to skip the biggest classic mc show in Michigan, that is literally a 15 minute ride from house.
If it works good, it looks good...
