1971 CB350 clutch

I have a bent clutch push rod. I ordered a replacement but I need to know how to remove the old one.
I can't find the procedure anywhere.

Need help.

You just pull off the case where the lifter is, and pull it out. If the other end can't be fished out with a magnet, then you'll have to also pull off the clutch cover case and pull off the clutch pressure plate, under which you'll find the lifter. This just pulls out, then you'll find the other pieces of the rod in the tunnel that goes through the mainshaft to the other side.

Did it and done. Waiting on a seal to come in from the bay area. Didn't anticipate that much oil though.

All done but now I'm stuck on adjusting the clutch. I get close and then POP! And I have to start all over again. Is there a trick that I'm missing?

Have tried www.hondawins.net  Lots of stuff over there about the clutch. Go to 350 engine section and do a search under clutch. There is a lot of stuff there. Good luck with it.

Please explain your issue. I don't understand "I get close and pop!"

Did you insert the correct end of the clutch rod?

Clutch adjustment is a three part process: adjustment and helix nut, and both ends of the clutch cable.

Quick and dirty approach:

Screw clutch cable adjuster on handlebar halfway in
Loosen 10mm bolt on sprocket cover
Turn helix screw until resistance is felt, then back off a HAIR smidge
Tighten 10mm bolt

Coming from a bent rod to a new one, it's a guarantee that you'll need to do the above. More in depth process documented on the twins forum, but the above should work.

If he is missing the ball, then he may have already destroyed the clevis.

It doesn't look any different than before when the clutch was functioning with the bent rod.

I'll take it apart and compare it with the cl360 that I have.

I've been following the adjustment procedures but it just ends with that pop sound and then the resistance on the clutch lever goes slack.

Like I said. I'll take apart the actuator and

1. Check for the ball
2. Check for any warpage or damage
3. Clean it up and grease it up and try again.

I would have left the bent rod in but I was just leaking oil all the time.
At least I've taken care of the leak.

Check for the ball. It commonly goes missing and it's a pretty big deal to have one!

This may be part of the problem

Chipped and cracked.  Bummer.  Gotta find one now.

Yeah actually it was. After degreasing the whole unit is where I found the ball and the shears and cracks.

I sourced a replacement for $20.
But yeah I considered a tig weld could take care of that.

The really cool thing is that now that I've replace the push rod, I found 5th gear!
