"I don't think this would work in Atlanta. Nobody cares. They would steal the cameras.

I watched a showon the Discovery Channel about shoplifting in London last year. The security cameras followed the theives throughout the store, out the front door and for a block and a half down the road. A series of cameras could pick them up as they made their way down the road. There was some discussion about people's rights and such, but not an overwhelming amount.

I saw these cameras on TV some months back, it's sad when it comes to this, but if it brings down the crime rate, OK.

This has been on the local and national TV news, a guy drives past what he thinks is a speed camera  and it flashes him.
Thinking he will get done for speeding, he returns at night, in full veiw of the camera to blow it to fcuk with some explosives.
Kaaaaaboooom, and the police nab him the day after for blowing the camera but not the recording equipment up, it was under ground and recorded the whole incident.I didn't get to see the outcome but he would have gone to prison for this.
He was stupid enough to approach the camera in a way that it could see him, think how stupid he must have felt when he found out it wasn't recording speeds but just trafic numbers. ;D ;D ;D dick head ::)

This will probably work at first, but like most rules, once people get used to them, they will do what they want anyway, especially if they believe what they are doing is not that bad, or if no one is around.  This is ridiculous. If these ever come to the US, I'll be the first to volunteer to snipe out all the loudspeakers.

What a change in the old country!

I remember when there was talk of photo ID for soccer fans, to try and curb the hooliganism which was rampant at the time. The whole thing was shot down in flames as being an 'infringement of human rights', blah, blah, blah.

Now you've got Big Brother really watching you!

Nothing a set of pipe cutters wouldn't fix. Oops, Cool Hand Luke tried that and
it didn't turn out to good. Nevermind :)
