All this time and such just to end in a lame/lazy flip?

Don't be rude. He chased it, he put in the time, it his his to do whatever the hell he wants with it and you have absolutely zero reason to be a douche and insult him over his choice.

Meh, you haven't seen rude on the web then.
I just don't see turning to a forum and acting like the PO did just to flip something.  But I have said my piece on that, and you have offered your counter opinion.

Next on the list is a meme to lighten the mood.
This is a nice and happy forum.

OTOH, if you are thinking about buying a flipping an SOHC/4, what better place to understand what you are looking at?

All I know is:  I'm still sad and kicking myself for selling my sandcast.  Complete with number top carbs and all.  >:(
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Very true.  My fear is that many are FAR more willing to give help and share knowledge when it is going to someone that is going to use or enjoy said bike.
Wouldn't want to feel like they are offering free on the job training.

Thanks Danny.

From the sandcast forum -

81. (Later mirror stems 10 mm without machine turned step and a circle outline visible at clamp end.)

This sounds like my mirrors to me, not sure how they got there or why. Short neck petcock, I could be wrong, maybe I dunno what they look like. Pretty sure it is a two hole fender.

Regarding the carbs I have seen '70's with this style cables and some with a traditional linkage and push pull setup. Again, I am not sure if these came on the bike or not. I don't know enough about the VINs to compare.

I plan to list the bike on Ebay when it is done. I am getting it running now and will hopefully be ready in a week or two. I don't know what it is worth but I trust Ebay to determine market value.

11mm stems are extremely rare. It's easy enough to put a caliper on it and measure. Then no guessing.

Same as 7/16 wrench.. Should be able to find that...to measure.
We wont mind if you list it here for a week,  before ebay...

Yeah sorry but my quote was not edited properly. My bike has the later style 10mm mirrors.

I measured. With calipers.

The red bike sold for $4700 - it's going home to Japan.

It had sandcast side covers.

Also had later sandcast mirrors on it.

I think the rear fender is from a 69 and also the chain guard.

Gone but not forgotten.
