Powercommander mapswitch
« on: May 13, 2014, 10:43:19 AM »
Hi. I have been asked to install a nos kit on a zx12r.

I have decided to use a powercommander mapswitch to togle between regular and the nos map on the bike. Do anyone know if i can use a relay to automatically switch from the regular map to the nos map when i press the nos button? I would like to do this, instead of manually changing the map via the normal handlebar switch.

I guess it depends on if the map toggle can be done while riding, and if there is a delay when switching.

I got the Multi function hub/map switch in the mail on friday.

I sent a question to  Dynojet research if i could get the wiring pin out for the map switch cable.
All i got in return was a link to the handlebar mounted switch assembly. I did order this cable, so i immediately started measuring on it to find out how it was wired.

It turns out pin 1 and 2 are always shorted, and pin 3 is connected to pin 2 by the switch. so i just cut the cables that where routed to the switch and replaced them with a relay that is triggered by the nos solenoid activation.

now for a trip to the dyno.
