Matsutake's and morels up here, but havent gone in a few years. 
Too dangerous up there.  Wont even take my kids.  Fkrs get territorial  >:(

We get 'oyster' mushrooms, seems like they grow in the winter here in Oklahoma, or at least they don't spoil as fast in winter.  I'd get them in Southeast Alaska in the fallthey are great in spaghetti sauce.

My friend had a place in SEAK where he got some that were purple, those might have been chanterelles.

Those are some nice big looking blacks you got there. Mushrooms around here are pretty much done and if found are looking pretty ragged.

I think they are fading here too.  I found these under a dying elm tree, one where the bark is starting to peel off.  Lots of Jack-in-the-Pulpits too. That's two clues I look for around here.   There were several trees in the area and they all looked like a prime location but I only found these few in two spots.  Grilling a steak tonite to go along with them....and a Guinness of course. :)

Yep dead Elms where the bark is just staring to strip and dead apple trees are the go to places around here.
