Rear sprocket wasted
« on: May 13, 2014, 06:00:08 PM »
Hey all,

I finally got my new sprockets in for my project.  I attached a pic of the old rear sprocket.   Check out the teeth. .. This thing is all jacked up.  I also found the front sprocket was an 18 tooth.   OEM is 16.  The old chain is a 530 with 104 links,  just like OEM.  So what beat the crap out of this sprocket?

The bike is a 1980 CB650C that I just bought and rebuilt.

I believe wear to that extent on a sprocket is due to poor lubrication and improper tension of the chain.

That and time.
