I have a 500 , will a 550 or 650 bolt up?

I'm looking to buy a spare engine for my amen frame which currently has a 71 500.

I have an opportunity to purchase a 74 cb550 bike for a $100 are the motor mounts the same as the 500?

Are there any major differences that could be a potential problem ?

It will bolt right up. In either case if you have the money to spare I would snap up that engine in a heartbeat for that price

Both the 550 & 650 engines will bolt right in but the 550 uses the same exhaust header.
The 650 has a better head with Freer flowing ports, but the exhaust is different.

youll need the 550 right rear hand engine mount that holds the clutch cable,youll also need the 550 clutch cable the 500 one wont work with the 550.
