Hi there,
My very first post on this forum. Just wanted to come out and say hello to you all.
I'm new to Cafe Racers and older bikes. For a while I've been drawn to the look, the feel, and soul of the older motorcycles and cafe racers in particular. It finally brought me here and to the point that today I'm buying my very first project bike.
I'm picking up 1977 Honda CB750. It's what I call a basket case at this point cause the entire bike had been taken apart and in boxes right now. So, an interesting journey lies ahead of me. LOL
I do have one question to you all right a way.
The gentleman who is selling me the bike showed me a small damaged on the motor case that was cased either by sprocket being broken and hitting the case or by the chain. The damaged was repaid by some kind of "metal epoxy". I took the picture of the repair job.
The gentleman says that the motor did not run as of yet after the repair had been done. So no way of knowing if it will leak oil or what.
I still like the bike a lot and want to get it, but just wondering if this is a big problem or of such fixes actually work and are proper, or of I could be looking for a welder who can take off the repair and weld that damage off.
Your feedback is Highly appreciated.
Thank Yuri
