Working on the video...

I still need to rejet the carbs.  It kind of falls flat when I open up the throttle past 1/2, but it sounds  ;D SWEET ;D at 3k+.  At that point I can start to hear a symphony of pipes rather than just the single exhaust note that I used to get from the 4-1.  After going out for rides last night and this morning I love the new pipes

NO buyer's remorse.  I was definitely worried about it at that price.

Boy, they look great, nice bike!  Any trouble installing them, or did they bolt right up?

I'd say you got a great deal if they're as nice as they look in the picture.  Ebay dudes trying to sell rusty old junk, can't be happy seeing (hopefully more) new pipes being offered again.

It's been a few weeks since I installed the HM300s andmy bike has been getting a lot more attention than before.   She needs a tune up but she LOOKS GOOD!

Here's a quick video....

Those sound great! and not as loud as thought they'd be for 300s. So the 341s are pretty much mute then?

Anyone that use HM300 pipes on a modified engine?
836, ported head, moderate cam, Mikuni VM29.
Too restrictive even with no baffels?   Or is a 4-1 much better?

I like the OEM 4-4 design that will take my bike back to the glory CB750 era.

The HM300’s will be just fine and I also prefer them for their classic looks and sound for street engines up to 836. Much of the HM300 old vs. new sound difference comes from the baffle packing material. The original baffle had a thin, fluffy fiberglass wrap secured by wire which required regular re-packing to maintain the sound level. The new style baffle packing has a thick, pressed style fiberglass wrap which lasts a long time, but reduces the sound level.

The solution here is to wrap the baffles just as Honda originally did. Pick up some aftermarket packing and wire them up to restore the original HM300 sound. This setup will take your 836 back to the early glory days with it’s ear-pleasing exhaust note. Running the baffles without any packing or doing a baffle delete for more exhaust noise will compromise the sound quality that the original HM300’s were known for, but that can be subjective.

Thank's Dream750 for the answer that allow me to spend another pile of $$$ on my old bike.  ;D

Fiber...? NO, that must be restrictive  :o The baffles with fiber is for the annual check only. I think every 2 years nowadays for bikes

OK, where to order?
Is it Yamiya750 or other cheaper alternatives available? David Silver will be same parts, same price?
I need a complete set with bolts, heat protection stuff.... I have the spigots  to be mounted into the head.

Dream, in the pics you posted, the original has from what I can see ( correct me if I'm wrong ) NO holes in the tube from the end of the baffle to the packing, I would then assume the end of the hole is free? The ones I got from Yamiya with the no number exhaust look like the bottom ones in your post, the end is blocked and the exhaust has to go out through those small holes so this is also effecting the note greatly, they are completely different baffles. I took off the 4/4s and put my 4/2s back on, I prefer the look. Both systems sound very similar with the 4/4 being a little quieter.
PeWe, if it wasn't for shipping cost you could have these 4/4s for a good price but I'll hang onto them for now, never know, I might get my money back on them one day.

Sounds badass!

load the engine 6k rpm up hill for 3 minutes, best sounding ever!
5-6k rpm on flat land, sounds great too but too much wind noise, but feel exhaust note throughout the bike!
anywhere 3-5k rpm just sounds really sweet.

of course, bike idles all day long once warmed up!  just have to mention this  :o

and yeah, hm300 should be a bit louder.  and here's another crappy video.

Nic, looks like the baffle holes didn’t show up well enough on your end. That's what happens when I take a shortcut and use my file photos. ::) No worries, here’s some better pics of an original (unrestored) HM300 baffle showing the all the holes and both ends.
