Hi.
I decided to upgrade my good old GS850G with a GS1000G engine, and I found a GS1000G where the seller needed the Frame, as he wanted to upgrade to the 1100G version. So I bought it and totally stripped the bike. Moved the engine over, and found out, that the engine block was repaired. I found another empty engine block, and moved all the parts over, after checking and renovating everything. Then under grinding of the cylinder and top, I found a crack from valve seat and out, at the exhaust side. Grrrrrr.
Now my questions:
A: Where can I find a Cylindertop for GS1000 for 34mm carburators ?
B: I have found a GS1000 top, but for 26mm carburators, in Germany. The casting of the top inlets are different.
Would my 26mm carburators from my GS850G fit on this GS1000G top for 26mm carburators ?
Will I need to change adjustments needels, jets etc ?
But honestly: Most of all I would prefer to use my 34mm carburators, so if someone has a GS1000 Top for 34mm in very good condition, and at a fair price, I would like to buy it.
