CB750 Round Slide Throttle Cap O-Ring?
« on: May 20, 2014, 05:11:10 PM »
See the red in the picture.

It looks like a previous owner replaced 3 of the 4 with a small piece of rubber, but I can't seem to find what the OEM replacement might be. Is there another option, perhaps just an o-ring that will keep the seal? Thanks for any help.

I have never searched for that part but if you still have one good one you will see it is a black grommet type of seal in that hole. I would be interested to know also if just that rubber insert is available as in the past I have just grabbed a spare cap.

This is a photo of the one good piece I have, the rest don't stick inside the top, they move up with the slide, therefor there is no seal.

The rest are this same piece but smushed flat and no longer seal the top :-/

It is not an available part.  If I need some, I usually just pillage my spare parts.  I have thought about maybe molding my own but, even I couldn't really justify the effort for the demand.

Looks like I'll have to find some tops on eBay etc. Okay thanks.
