« on: September 18, 2006, 01:59:35 PM »
i donno if my riding habits differ from most peoples but i like to crack the throtle and lean into the turns on winding roads, and today i got over pretty far and i began to wonder if there is a maximum angle for my bike that i dont wanna reach,i mean im not scraping my footpegs, but,  not that far from it.  :D 45, 50, 60 degrees?

YES

The angle at which you bite the pavement. And it differ's based on surface and tire.  ::) ;D

Generally, when your pegs bite enough to kick you back tire out from under you.
I use to drag pegs, I've slowed down :)

Modern tyres in good condition will usually offer grip way beyond what the average rider will ask of them. Hence the countless accidents cause by riders not leaning over far enough when riding through a decreasing radius turn, and then trying to stand the bike up with the resultant run-off into the ditch.

If you're on dry asphalt or cement and you're not scraping the pegs, then you're fine.  I've scraped them a couple of times on my 750 and it's not a great feeling. :o
