Greetings,
My name is Mihai ( or Michael, Mike, in english ou Michel en francais). I am from Romania and i`m really bad with english.
i live in Bucharest, the capital of Romania (not Budapest, that is for Hungary), and i`m in negotiations for an old CB550k 4 (1978) for the price of 2.000 euro (or abou 2.700 US dollars).
I wil get it in the spring time (hope). it has 35.000 miles (is the american version, was imported from US in 1981) and is in  a very good original condition.
I think is the only CB550K registred in Romania :))

Anyway...glad to find this forum and glad to find you all!

If you are traveling to Romania just give me a sign...mi casa e su casa!

The bike is owned by a 67 years guy who all his life was a bike enthusiast but he never got a japanesse bike, only MZ, IJ, URAL, and other like those ( there were many like this in our country)
He said that is he`s last bike...and is very fond of it, but considering the age he need to sell it to a person who really wants to take care of her ( the bike:))
The price is a little high but he is selling it with the same money that he bought it.

Where are you from Moldova?
I am also from Moldova by origin, but romanian Moldova, from Suceava, living in Bucharest!

Its winter here, snowing and cold :))) looking for the summer!

Yes we still have oil in Ploiesti. I went to high school there . I was heavely bombed during the WW2 but now is a pleasant city with big oil refineries (OMV, Petrom, Lukoil)!

I grew up in Prague, but closest I ever been to Romania was during traveling Slovakia.

I understand mountains and nature are beautiful in Romania and I still remember the crazy winter of 89 with TV news on Ceaușescu - that was one crazy SOB.

Oh yes..Ceausescu really was a SOB but he build this road...Transfagarasan :))

Also, in 2011 it was opened a new mountain road at 2145 m high...its called Transalpina

all this km of roads....if strighten aut it vill only be a few km..but drilling through mountains kosts....can this roads be driven hole year...or are snow bloking..in vinter monts??...

Its opened just from spring to autumn. This are secondary roads to cross the Carpathian mountains, used for touristic adventures, site seeing etc.
In winter moths its partial closed, there are some ski resorts there.
 The main roads are not very interesting and its a lot of traffic.
