honda 500 four triple tree
« on: May 22, 2014, 08:45:59 PM »
I recently bought a 1973 500 four for restoration.  Noticed that the triple tree had been tightened too much and is cracked.  The question is do the honda fours of that era all share the same triple trees?  I have a 1976 750 four that has a perfect tree and was wondering if that could b e used on the 500?

I'd bet the PO did not reinstall the spacers in the clamp, overtightened it and it cracked.
The 550 triple would be a closer match, they are not hard to find or expensive.

Make sure you get the spacers....#9 in the fiche
