problem with Firefox - "Go back one page"
« on: May 23, 2014, 02:13:54 PM »
Anyone else having this trouble...I'm reading a topic and finish; want to return to the topics list and select "Go back one page" - but Firefox seems buried several links on the same page and doesn't return but stays on the current page.  When I list the pages (by hovering on the "return arrow" I can see my page wanted several locations down.  It used to return immediately to the previous topic.

Same here. Sometimes I have to hit the "go back one page" a couple of times before it gets the idea, no clue why though.

I can't say off hand what version I have at the moment but it did update about a week ago and come to think of it I don't recall having an issue with going back one page since then.

Never had an issue with "back" in any FF version it's something that shouldn't get past beta testing it's just used to much by everyone.
Any chance you've changed something?

Previously I hadn't had any issues with FF in regards to go back until maybe about a year ago or maybe not quite that long ago and haven't played with the settings at least nothing different from changes I had made on previous versions. FF updated itself about a week ago and so far it seems fine now.

I did install google chrome because I was getting annoyed with going back 1 page on FF but haven't used chrome that much. Nothing wrong with chrome but I've used FF for so long I've gotten too used to it and besides it all seems fine at least for now.

Latest version of FF is installed already.  The only thing is that my menu bar had disappeared with one of the latest automatic updates, so I left it as I wasn't really missing it.  Today I went trying to determine the version installed, and got it turned back on, and I also checked for plugins installed.  Ther was one I didn't recognize as needed (something about automatically destroying gamesites, or whatever), so I removed it and also disable a skype dialer (that I never use).  FF restarted and now it seems fine...return key does as intended.
