Topic: What are these brackets for? Supposedly off a CB500

Look somewhat like foot pegs mounting brackets. You sure they are for 500 bikes?

On my 550k, two each of the exhaust mounting brackets had that same little half moon shape at the hole where you have that purple cable tie.  These mated to same feature on the passenger foot pegs to keep the pegs from rotating.   So I am speculating exhaust brackets, but not sure about the bike.   The brackets on the 550's are flater and do not have a full 90 degree bend.  After market maybe?    The little rusted bit with 3 holes on the right side does not look factory to me

Those appear to be the lower muffler brackets for the HM404 exhaust used on the late model CB550Ks, though other bikes may have shared a similar bracket. Not sure what the rusty metal attachment is for.

Thank you gentlemen, it seems fairly certain they're off a 550 exhaust.

They were advertised off a 500, and, as I didn't have them I was thinking of getting them.

But now the jury has returned with a not needed for a cb500 verdict. I'll not be buying them.
